What does a brand strategy studio do?
We defines what a brand stands for, who it's for, and how it should show up across every touchpoint. At DEMA, we go further than identity or messaging. We help brands find their strategic centre, the clear point that holds direction, prioritizes action, and makes the next move obvious. Our work shapes how brands launch, evolve, and stay relevant as culture, platforms, and audiences keep moving.
How is a strategy studio different from a branding or advertising agency?
A traditional agency is built to produce: campaigns, design systems, content. A strategy studio is built to think. We work upstream, before the production starts, to define the direction every creative team, partner, and platform should follow. We don't compete with your agencies. We sharpen the brief, the positioning, and the priorities they work from. At DEMA, you're not paying for output. You're paying for clarity.
What services does DEMA offer?
DEMA offers two core services. Brand Strategy, for brands being born or rebuilt, defines the ambition, point of view, audience, and narrative. Communication Strategy, for work that has to land, not just shine, defines the cultural read, creative tension, messaging matrix, and social architecture that make campaigns and content actually move people. Both services are delivered as focused strategic foundations, not 200-page brand books.
Where do you work?
DEMA is based in Montreal, Quebec, and works with brands across Canada, the U.S., and Europe. As a senior-led, independent studio, we work remotely with clients anywhere in the world and travel for the moments that matter most: discovery, alignment, and key decision-making sessions with leadership teams.
Do you work directly with brands, or in support of their existing agencies?
Both and that's a deliberate choice. We work directly with brands when they need to define or sharpen their strategic foundations: founders launching, leadership teams repositioning, in-house marketing teams looking for a senior strategic partner to think with. We also work alongside existing creative agencies, PR partners, and in-house teams when the challenge is alignment. In those cases, we provide the strategic direction everyone can build from a single, clear brief that aligns every partner around the same ambition, the same audience, and the same point of view.
